Coming together as a community to help feed hungry people is at the heart of what Empty Bowls is all about.  Teachers and students, potters and restaurateurs, bakers and citizen volunteers, non-profits and for-profits; people of all ages and experience levels make the bowls that, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012, will be purchased along with a bowl of soup by people who come out in support of a good cause.

The fourth annual Empty Bowls Clarksville will be held on February 28, 2012 with both lunch and dinner served. Empty Bowls is a grassroots effort to fight hunger locally and benefits Loaves and Fishes and Urban Ministries Grace Assistance Food Pantry. The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople, educators and others work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for a $ 15.00 cash donation,  guests are asked to select a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the our community. All proceeds help local hunger efforts.
